2205/2507 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate/Sheet
2205 stainless steel, a duplex stainless steel, combines austenitic and ferritic qualities, offering superior strength and excellent corrosion resistance, especially against pitting and crevice corrosion. Comprising about 22% chromium, 5% nickel, and 3% molybdenum, it exhibits higher resistance to corrosion and cracking than traditional austenitic grades. Ideal for harsh chloride environments, such as in marine, oil and gas industries, and chemical processing, 2205 is also used in pollution control equipment and high-strength structural components. This grade’s blend of strength and resistance to corrosion makes it a preferred choice for challenging industrial applications requiring durability and longevity.

Heat Treatment
Annealing: Anneal at 1850 – 1950 °F (1010 – 1066 °C), then water quench or rapidly air cool.
The annealing temperature should be kept as low as possible, consistent with the desired properties, because Type 201 tends to scale more than Type 301
